We are the Ruwodos, parents navigating the vibrant world of raising three growing children, all of whom had the privilege of being high schoolers in Makhanda Grahamstown. Life got quite busy with their academic schedules, extracurricular activities, and the delightful (if occasionally overwhelming) chaos that comes with parenting teens.
That’s why we were so thrilled when we stumbled upon a hidden gem that has completely transformed our perspective on living: Kenton Eco Estate. Nestled near some of the Eastern Cape’s finest private schools, this tranquil haven offers more than just a place to build a dream home; it offers a lifestyle.
At Kenton Eco Estate, serenity reigns supreme. Shielded from the hustle and bustle of big city life, it’s a haven where safety, security, and relaxation intertwine effortlessly. Imagine waking up to the sound of birdsong, taking a leisurely stroll through the untouched natural beauty, walking past the zebra and waterbuck enroute to the private beach or enjoying a starlit evening with your loved ones. Here, every day feels like a getaway, making vacations almost unnecessary.
While we secured our piece of paradise a while back, the “hemorrhaging” that comes with private school fees for regular income earners like us meant we haven’t started building our haven yet
But now, with the last of our children graduating high school, we’re overflowing with gratitude and excitement. Finally, we can focus on creating a sanctuary where we can truly thrive, knowing our children will always have a safe and nurturing environment to return to, and maybe even raise their own families someday.
