New architectural guidelines for Kenton Eco Estate

Nov 17, 2023

We strive to elevate our commitment to sustainable living and individual expression within the enchanting landscape of our estate.

We are thrilled to share some exciting updates regarding our architectural guidelines, as we strive to elevate our commitment to sustainable living and individual expression within the enchanting landscape of our estate.

Congratulations!

Fluid Architects PTY (Ltd), under the directorship of Chris Albert Hattingh, has been appointed as our new lead architects. Their dedication to architectural excellence and commitment to seamlessly integrate designs within our natural landscape aligns perfectly with our vision for Kenton Eco Estate’s future.

While Fluid Architects leads the way, residents are free to use an architect of their choice ensuring adherence to the innovative guidelines set forth by Fluid for a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

Embracing Sustainable Energy Principles:

One of our core objectives has always been to uphold our Eco status. We’re now placing an increased emphasis on passive and alternative sustainable energy principles. We encourage designers to infuse ‘green’ elements that enrich the holistic experience for homeowners.

Evolving Roof Shapes and Forms:

Historically, our estate emphasized double pitched roofs and singular colour schemes as unifying architectural elements. However, we recognize the need for more design flexibility and individual expression.

As a result, we’re introducing more diverse roof shapes, including flat roofs and lean-to types. Each design will be evaluated individually, maintaining a unified colour theme while fostering creativity that harmonizes with our natural surroundings.

Density and Building Sizes:

In our pursuit of a harmonious blend with nature, we’ve reduced the coverage from 60% to 50%, embracing a lower density across the estate. Additionally, the minimum building size has been adjusted from 250 m2 to 220 m2, encompassing decks and covered verandas.
These updates represent our ongoing dedication to fostering a community that thrives within the embrace of nature, respecting and celebrating the balance between architectural innovation and environmental preservation.
We eagerly anticipate seeing the innovative designs that emerge from this evolution of our architectural guidelines. Let’s build not just houses, but homes that resonate with our ethos of honest to goodness living.
